Butterfly Wings

My birthday morning began with a little toast in our room at The Peninsula Beijing.

(I'm going through a love affair phase with rose champagnes and the Mumm is yummy indeed)

We'd previously had a late and leisurely breakfast, before hitting the hotel gym for a long work out.

Next up, we were off to take one of my very favourite meals, High Tea, in The Peninsula Beijing's Lobby Lounge, which is surrounded by lots of fashionista eye candy - The Peninsula actually contains Chanel, Hermes, Cartier, Tiffany & Co etc etc.

Zara blouse
American Apparel leggings
Steve Madden gladiator heels
Chanel 2.55 hand bag
Chanel CC crystal earrings
Chanel crystal camellia ring
Chanel resin/crystal star ring
Tiffany & Co heart ring

(and rocking no makeup except for lipgloss as I was off to the spa after high tea!)

I look like I'm about to take flight *giggles!* but I wanted to show you my Dynasty worthy pleated bat sleeves!

My limited release Chanel 2.55 metallic treated lambskin bag with silver hardware is now over a year old!

I love my baby even more than when I first got her.

I've nicknamed her "The First Born", as she's my first Chanel bag...and as precious as a child!

As Karl Lagerfeld said about the 2.55, "It's your pet!"

My favourite champagne cocktail is a Bellini and I'm very fussy about my Bellini's!
They have to be made properly - with Champagne, not sparkling wine and with fresh white peach puree, not peach liqueur.

I know, I know, shoot me now *laughs* but a girl's got a right to be fussy about her cocktail !
Anyways, I rarely find a great one, which is shocking considering I'm lucky enough to go to some pretty lovely venues.

However, The Peninsula Beijing didn't disappoint - they used Taittinger champagne and were beyond yummy.

Hooray!
I had two *winks*

Yes, that was all for me *blushes*

Luckily I just enough time to digest it before I moved on to The Peninsula's Spa for a late afternoon facial -yay-yay!

On To Beijing!

Coming down from the Great Wall Of China on their newly installed toboggan slide ride.
(as you can probably tell I enjoyed it a lot -probably too much! I went down as fast as I could - err, not really breaking at all - until I came up behind the couple in front of me...who screamed and promptly banged into each other *blushes*)

Just to let you know, the next series of posts will be all about my time in beautiful Beijing.

So hop on a ferry, catch a plane and meet me there *giggles!*

Again, I'll spare you my tourist/holiday/sightseeing pics and stories and keep it all about the fun stuff - style, fashion, shopping, champagne, dining out and spas!

Coach Pink Poodle

Coach patent leather key ring

Isn't this the sweetest key ring?!

I couldn't resist it's shiny whimsy! Plus, I've had pals affectionately call me Poodle more than once *blushes*

Now I smile each time I reach for my keys ;)

Fendi Bracelet

I was so excited to see a Fendi store in Macau - we don't have one here in Melbourne yet -alas!

As soon as I saw this bracelet I snapped it up!
I suspect I actually snatched at it *shame*
I'd admired the exact same one a few months prior, in one of my glossy magazines. I wanted one instantly as one of the big themes in my wardrobe is equestrian.
However, as I mentioned before, we don't yet have a stand alone Fendi store.
The fashion gods must have smiled on me - yay-yay!

I think it'll look heavenly worn stacked with my Hermes bracelets *winks*

Moet Bar

Enjoying a glass (or two!) of vintage Moet Rose at The Moet Bar, The Venetian Macau.

What's not to love about a super pretty, super sparkly bar that serves only varieties of Moet and has a golden coloured interior designed to mimic champagne bubbles?!

I found this little gem nestled amongst the luxury shopping area of The Venetian.
This is just one of the tempting views I perused while sipping bubbles!

Proving just how dangerous it is to go shopping after spending an hour imbibing french while drooling over glossy window displays!
Indulgent, heavenly fun!

Malo Clinic Spa Macau

Malo Clinic Spa, in The Venetian, Macau.

I took a couple of sneaky photos before being very politely told not to by security - eeek! *blushes*

Ok, I'll keep my little review as short and sweet as possible!

The Clinic and Spa is the world's largest integrative wellness centre - seriously, it is crazy big! I felt like I was in a hotel, not a spa :) It was a maze of a place - I guess that's what happens when a flashy casino does a spa, right?!

The Clinic part was still under construction when I visited (think full on cosmetic dentistry, medical care etc) but luckily for me the Spa zone was open.
Somehow, I'd rather go for a facial than a dentist session anyways, ha!

When I arrived at reception I kind of felt like I was in an aeroplane hanger crossed with a hotel lobby! Not the normal soothing spa vibe, as it's still being constructed, so I found that a little odd at first - think a huge, stark white doctors waiting room :(

However, the staff and service were super friendly and professional and once you leave the reception area you enter the spa zone which is nearly finished.
It's pretty, glossy and relaxing!
I've never had so many different staff escort me through a spa and I finally got to my spa treatment room. Seriously, it was like walking a hotel corridor maze, and at every corner a new spa staffer would greet me by name and usher me on - beyond co-ordinated service, if a little off putting as I'm wearing only a robe and slippers *blushes*

For my treatment I choose The Pearl Brightening Facial.
(Yes, I am somewhat of a sucker for anything whitening, anti-aging and hydrating)
It was a fab facial.
I feel asleep several times, I was that blissed out and I did leave whiter, and glowing - a miracle considering all the travelling and champagne drinking I was doing *blushes*
Even my guy, on greeting me as I left the spa, announced that I was whiter, including my shoulders and decolletage - the ultimate seal of approval *winks*
So, I was a very happy customer.
For the rest of my time in Macau I only wore lipgloss, 'cos I was that glowy :)

More positives were that the treatments were very well priced for a 6 star spa ( my 55 min facial was about Aus $150 ) and superbly carried out - my therapist was fab and all my friends (both guys and gals) said they had lovely treatments too.

The only downer for me was the saunas and steam rooms were still under construction. I was a little disappointed because I sauna and steam at every opportunity! However the gym was fabulous and I loved using it.

So overall, I would most certainly recommend it.
I can't wait to go back as I'm sure when I'm next there it will be fully finished - yay-yay!
(although something tells me I'll still only be using the spa zone and not the slightly scary sounding clinic, ha!)

Godiva Goodness

Godiva Goodies

Because hey, if it's going straight to your ass, it may as well be top shelf, right?! *giggles*

I was super excited to find a whole shop of nothing but Godiva, inside of The Venetian, Macau.

It was cheaper than back home too, as well as having a fabulously large range to drool over.

I don't buy Godiva often, but whenever I do, I adore the decadence!
